After breakfast at our hotel, we headed straight to Liberty Square (自由廣場) — a massive public plaza known for its beautiful architecture and historical significance.
We walked through the Liberty Square Archway, strolled across the Main Plaza, and admired the majestic structures surrounding it:
❖ Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
❖ National Theater
❖ National Concert Hall
It was serene but grand — the kind of place that makes you slow down and take it all in.

Just as the rain started to pour, we found a cozy refuge inside the Chun Shui Tang Zhongzheng Branch, located inside the National Concert Hall. This iconic Taiwanese teahouse is actually known as the birthplace of bubble tea, so of course my sister had to try one.
We continued our day with a lovely lunch at Allegro Bistro, a modern European restaurant just a short walk away. Great food and relaxing vibes — exactly what we needed before our next stop.

This place is a must-visit if you love art, design, or creative spaces. Huashan 1914 Creative Park is a repurposed wine factory turned cultural hub, filled with art exhibits, lifestyle shops, pop-up cafés, and murals. We spent a few hours exploring and taking photos.

On our way out, we stumbled upon a Don Don Donki branch. If you’ve been to Japan, you know what a treasure trove this place is. Of course, we went inside. We didn’t plan to shop, but we never left empty-handed. 😅
We went back to the hotel, then headed to Carrefour to buy some Taiwanese snacks and goodies to bring back home. Highly recommend doing this before your last day to avoid the rush.
To wrap up our day, we went to Ningxia Night Market, one of Taipei’s smaller but super vibrant markets.
We loved how local it felt — fewer touristy stalls, more street food that locals actually line up for. It was the perfect way to end our Taipei day trip.

Would I recommend this itinerary? Yes! It’s the kind of day that balances landmarks, food, creativity, and a touch of spontaneity. Whether it’s your first or fifth time in Taipei, this day trip lets you soak in the city even if you’re short on time.
